RSC: the tournament massively strengthens its supportive side

The Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell has a very prominent role in solidarity collaboration with different entities and NGOs. The first major initiative of the tournament in the field of Corporate Civil Responsibility (CSR) began in November with the start of the ticket sales campaign. For the fifth consecutive year, the spectators of the tournament have the option of allocating one euro, when they purchase their ticket or passes, to the Paidós de Cáritas project of the diocese of Barcelona and automatically enter the draw for two passes for the edition of the 2019 tournament.

During the celebration of this 66th edition various solidarity campaigns will be carried out, including the Aces solidaris by Banc Sabadell, the donation of blood to the Banc de Sang i Teixits, and the solidarity stand managed by the Real Club Tennis Barcelona (RCTB-1899). The Aces solidaris is an initiative by which the bank donates 50 euros for each ace (or point of direct service) that the players score during the tournament, the total goes to four NGOs. This year the Croatian Ivo Karlovic will compete, the player who has served the most aces in the history of tennis (12,568)

One of the great novelties of this edition of the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell, outside the sports field, is that for the first time blood will be collected by the Banc de Sang i Teixits. On Sunday, April 22nd, the weekend of the qualifying phase, a mobile extraction unit will be installed at the Real Club Tenis Barcelona facilities so that tennis fans can donate blood. At the end of the donation, all volunteers will receive entry for the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell for the same day and another for Monday 23 or Tuesday 24 April.

Nine humanitarian organizations and NGOs will have a space in the solidary stand managed by Real Club Tenis Barcelona on the Fan Boulevard of the tournament: Sara Sánchez Coma Foundation, Infinite Force, Karuna, San Juan de Dios Social Work, Tennis Aid, Educo , Fundació Amics de l’Hospital del Mar i Raquetes Sense Fronteres. As on previous occasions, each of these organizations will have the stand at their disposal for two full days to publicize their projects and distribute material among tournament visitors.
