CUPRA will be the new official car of the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell
The Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell and the CUPRA automobile company have reached a sponsorship agreement that reaffirms the commitment of both firms to sport and the environment. Therefore, CUPRA bets on the tournament and will become the new sustainable mobility partner.
CUPRA was born in 2018 to redefine the automotive segment, introduce new ideas and challenge established norms. They have an important presence in the main motor competitions, and stand out in their ‘racing’ line for having the CUPRA e-Racer, the first 100% electric racing car. Outside the competitions, they are also the official vehicle of FC Barcelona and the World Padel Tour, among others.
Its commitment to the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell is linked to its sustainability policy and for this it will make available to the tournament a fleet of 22 plug-in hybrid vehicles, such as the CUPRA Formentor, the CUPRA León and the CUPRA León Sportourer e-Hybrid. These vehicles have the zero label, implicitly leaving this firm’s commitment to electromobility and sustainability.
Víctor Sarasola, CUPRA’s commercial director in Spain, positively praised the agreement. “Sponsoring this tennis tournament so iconic for Barcelona, means for CUPRA its reaffirmation as a brand that defies established norms, and its commitment to sport and the environment.” Xavier Pujol, CEO of the tournament, was also very excited about the new vehicles, “since the tournament we are committed to sustainability and this agreement with CUPRA is very important to meet our goal of caring for the environment.”
The Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell – 68th Conde de Godó Trophy will be held between April 17 and 25 at the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona-1899 courts.
