The Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell U14 circuit ends its first edition with more than 1,000 participants

– The winners of each event have qualified to play the final draw on the RCTB-1899 courts, coinciding with the celebration of the ATP 500 tournament

The Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell – Trofeo Conde de Godó has successfully concluded the first edition of its U14 circuit, which has been held in each of the four Catalan provinces: Tarragona (CT Reus Monterols), Barcelona (CT La Salut) , Girona (CT Girona) and Lleida (CT Lleida). For four weeks, more than 1,000 boys and girls from all over Catalonia have been able to compete in the tournament and participate in the Godó Family Days with Marc López and Tommy Robredo.

This under-14 circuit was born with the aim of reinforcing the commitment to the young talents of Catalan tennis and its celebration has managed to promote this sport throughout the territory. The champions of this circuit (Adrià VelázquezÀlex EscofetJochi CuevasVíctorPalomarVanesa VaselinovaIndira DelgadoMaria Palacios and Marina Quesada) will compete in the final draw of the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell – Trofeo Conde de Godó U14, which will be held during the week of the ATP 500 tournament (April 16-24, 2022). The final tournament in Barcelona will bring together the eight best U-14 rackets and to the champions of the circuit we must add the two winners of the Rafa Nadal Tour of the RCTB-1899 that was held during the first week of the year, Manuel Páez and Charo Esquiva. The three places that remain to be awarded will be by invitation of the organization.

Parallel to the finals, the great celebration of grassroots Catalan tennis was held with the Godó Family Days, which included the participation of two of the great role models of Catalan tennis, Marc López and Tommy Robredo. The RCTB-1899 players shared their racket skills with hundreds of boys and girls from each province. Throughout the morning, family activities were carried out with Goody, the tournament’s mascot, and exclusive Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell tickets and gifts were raffled off.
