The Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell presents an edition with many novelties both on and off the court

The Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell – Conde de Godó Trophy has presented the 69th edition of a tournament that will be held from April 16 to 24 on the courts of the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona-1899. The organization of the largest annual sporting event in the Catalan capital has announced an edition that, in addition to maintaining the high level of participation every year, will bet on a digital, sustainable and business revolution.

The event, held in the Saló de Cent of the Barcelona City Council, was attended by the Mayor of Barcelona, ​​Ada Colau; together with the president of the RCTB-1899, Jordi Cambra; the CEO of the tournament, Xavier Pujol; the tournament director, David Ferrer; the president of Banco Sabadell, Josep Oliu; the editor-in-chief of the Godó Group, Javier Godó; and the General Secretary for Sport of the Generalitat, Anna Caula.

The edition scheduled for this 2022 will be the most digital in history and will have a mobile application that will be revolutionary and unique. Fans of tennis and sports in general will be able to follow all the daily news of the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell in an interactive way and participate in numerous activities and exclusive prize giveaways. In 2018, the organization received the ISO 20121 certificate for the management of sustainable events and in 2019 it was recognized by Barcelona Biosphere with the distinction for the city’s commitment to tourism sustainability. Among the main initiatives of the tournament to take care of the planet, the renewal of sustainable certificates, the reduction of emissions with the use of electric drive vehicles, LED lighting of all the courts, use of compostable cups, meticulous waste recycling, control daily consumption, promotion of public transport and the use of bicycles or the prohibition of smoking throughout the premises.

And all this will be done in a space that will once again be the main meeting point for doing business.
