Nicolás Álvarez obtains a place among the best
The RCTB player Nicolás Álvarez has earned his place in the main draw of the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell in front of an encouraging crowd from the stands of the Rafa Nadal court. With the sun as a witness to his great victory, the tennis player born in Burgos has achieved a more than deserved place among the best on the Barcelona clay. One more milestone in Álvarez’s career, after having become the youngest player in history to obtain his first ATP point, a goal that he achieved at a younger age than even Rafa Nadal or Carlos Alcaraz.
Álvarez will therefore be part of the current Spanish ‘Armada’, which in this edition will be made up of 13 players. Pedro Martínez, Jaume Munar, Carlos Alcaraz, Pablo Andújar, Roberto Carballés, Albert Ramos, Alejandro Davidovich, Pablo Carreño, Tommy Robredo and Feliciano López are and also thanks to overcoming the qualifying, Carlos Taberner and Bernabé Zapata. Taberner did it after comfortably beating Hugo Grenier and Zapata did the same against Manuel Guinard, also from France.
Hugo Dellien, Elias Ymer and Egor Gerasimov have also won a ticket for the main draw that kicks off tomorrow.
