Cepsa gets involved with the sustainability plan for the tournament
The Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell continues with its commitment to being the leading tournament on the ATP circuit from the point of view of sustainability and, in this edition, Cepsa joins the objectives of ‘Play for The Planet’ for the care of the planet. The energy company, which has been supporting the tournament for more than 20 years, makes its solutions for sustainable mobility available to official electric and hybrid vehicles.
This initiative highlights Cepsa’s commitment to reducing emissions, as dictated by its strategic plan for 2030, ‘Positive Motion’, which projects its ambition to be a leader in sustainable mobility, biofuels and green hydrogen in Spain and Portugal, and to become a ledar in the energy transition. In this decade, the company will reduce its scope 1 and 2 CO2 emissions by 55%, and scope 3 emissions by between 15% and 20%, with the goal of reaching net zero emissions by 2050.
In the field of mobility, Cepsa is developing the largest electric mobility ecosystem in Spain and Portugal, together with Endesa, deploying the widest network of ultra-fast road charging, with 150 kW chargers every 200 kilometers on the urban roads and main motorways. This equipment will allow users to recharge 80% of the battery of their electric vehicles in approximately 10 minutes.
