Alcaraz: the best, for last

The most faithful spectators have had to wait until 11:00 p.m. to see how the most requested and acclaimed tennis player at the current Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell, Carlos Alcaraz, raised his arms after beating the No.1 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas, in an electrifying match full of alternatives and where the two tennis players sold each point very dearly. It was the contest that many expected, even if it was in the quarterfinals. And no one was disappointed. Alcaraz saved the best of the day for last.

It was the third time that they met, after the two previous battles that the Murcian tennis player took, at the 2021 US Open and the recent Masters 1000 in Miami.

Alcaraz, who in this edition of the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell has achieved his first victories on Barcelona clay, will fight tomorrow for a place in Sunday’s final against Alex de Miñaur, an Australian tennis player in which it will be their first meeting.
