Transport for tennis players, silent and sustainable
Alcaraz, Tsitsipas, Carreño… and so on until the draw is completed. All the players, for the second consecutive year, have moved around thanks to the fleet of Cupra brand cars, official vehicles in which the tennis players have traveled when they have needed it. It is a silent and sustainable vehicle model that has earned the DGT “zero” label and that contributes to making the surroundings of the RCTB quieter and more peaceful every year.
Specifically, the Cupra Born model is the first 100% electric car from the car brand that combines electrification, sporting design, and a range of up to 419 km. The almost 100 players in the competition, adding the qualifying draw and the singles and doubles main draw competitions, have had 24 electrified vehicles at their disposal, 16 of them of the aforementioned Born model.
The Cupra Born is the first model of the brand that responds to a CO2 neutral production concept. And it is that one of the great objectives pursued by the organization of the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell is to reduce the environmental impact, to become the first tennis tournament that will officially certify the carbon footprint in accordance with the international standard ISO 14064. A commitment that every year is closer and that players and public applaud. Because the beneficiary is the planet, the same as Cupra and the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell try to take care with sustainable decisions.
