Mango, new sponsor of the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell
Mango, one of Europe’s leading fashion industry groups, has signed an agreement with the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona-1899 to become the new technical sponsor of the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell – Trofeo Conde de Godó tennis tournament. The contract, which will come into force in 2023, is valid for three years, until 2025.
From the next edition of the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell, which will take place from 15 to 23 April 2023, Mango will be in charge of dressing all the tournament staff, including all the ball boys, line judges and chair umpires who participate in the tournament and are present on the courts. Mango will also dress all members of the tournament organisers.
In parallel, the Barcelona-based fashion company will be in charge of developing the first line of merchandising for the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell. Together with RCTB-1899 (tournament owner) and Tennium (tournament manager), Mango will design and produce a collection of fashion garments and accessories for the tournament, which will be distributed in the official shop during the tournament.
The addition of Mango to the pool of sponsors of the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell responds to the group’s commitment to strengthen ties with the territories where it is present and support the cultural, social and economic activity of the Catalan capital, resuming the collaboration it already maintained with the tournament between 2011 and 2013.
Toni Ruiz, CEO of the fashion group, maintains that “Mango is a company born in Barcelona with strong ties to its home city that we want to continue to strengthen with agreements such as the one we have just signed with the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona-1899”, he explains. “At Mango we identify with the values of tennis and with those of an event with such a long history and tradition as the Godó, a social, economic and cultural meeting point in Barcelona,” he adds.
