Nadal: 41 consecutive wins is not bad at all, the record will be hard to beat

Rafael Nadal’s successful winning streak came to an end today when Nico Almagro converted his second match point after two hours and 47 minutes on the Pista Central at the Real Club Tenis Barcelona.

Here are some quotes of Nadal in the post-match press conference:

“I played better than him in the first two sets but I did not make use of my opportunities. Especially in the second set I had many chances when I had more control.”

“This is sport. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. I made unexpected mistakes and lost my serve to love when I needed to serve well in the third set.”

“Tennis is like this. Today I suffered, now I need to keep fighting and start thinking about Madrid.”

“I can only congratulate Nico now.”

“41 consecutive wins is not bad at all, whoever wants to beat the record, it will be very hard.”

“I have to start thinking about Madrid and Rome now.”

“Tennis is just a game, what really matters today is Tito Vilanova. I want to send all my support and best wishes to his family in this sad moment.”
