Rafa Nadal's first contact with the clay of Barcelona in search of the 12th
Rafa Nadal practiced this morning in Barcelona with total normality after his defeat in the semi-finals of the Masters 1000 of Monte Carlo against Fabio Fognini. The player from Manacor practiced for two hours with his coaches Carlos Moyà and Francis Roig to start feeling the clay of the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona-1899 that has seen him grow up since he was a child.
In most of the practice he was talking about his forehand, and said “I have to polish” in order to arrive in optimal conditions and hurt his rivals as he likes. The reading of the defeat against Fognini marked the session under the watchful eye of Francis Roig, always at his back to give corrections on each hit.
During the two hours, Rafa's family and friends kept passing by the court, which he greeted with joy. This moment is something usual whenever he comes to his club and why this tournament is so special for him. His eleven victories here show that the characteristics of this court, which bears his name, fit as glove.
Rafa completed his session before heading to the centre of Barcelona to visit the Palau de la Música with Kei Nishikori and talk to the media to share his first impressions in the city.
